Singapore taking up third spot
Third for Singapore in first block

3rd July, Singapore: Singapore girls managed a creditable third place finish in the Girl's Team first block on Day 3 of the 1st Asian Youth Games 2009 at Orchid Bowl Friday evening behind leader Korea and Japan.

Despite a mediocre start in the opening game, Darshini Krishna, Anthea Soh, Ilma Nur Jannah and two gold medalist, New Hui Fen managed to lead the field. The team then suffered a poor second game but redeemed their pride to finish third.

A cracking start for Singapore
Team Singapore had a cracking start in the opening game of the Boy's Team event of the 1st Asian Youth Games but ended up third at the end of the first block behind Japan and Hong Kong at Orchid Bowl on Friday.
