SingaporeBowling launched its National Youth Development Programme in 2007. This is a training programme developed specially to allow our local youths to receive training in a structured format developed jointly with an internationally renowned coach consultant - Sid Allen.
Youths that complete our programme are eligible to advance into our National Development Squad where bowlers will then be able to stand a chance to represent the federation and Singapore for competitions.
This is a 36-week programme categorized into 3 levels (Levels A, AA & AAA) based on their initial skills at each of the centres of excellence. This also allows participants to advance within the full training programme.

Centres of Excellence
All training will be conducted in the 3 appointed Centres of Excellence
Orchid Bowl @ SAFRA Tampines
Orchid Bowl @ SAFRA Yishun
Westwood Bowl, Civil Service Club
Qualifying Selection Process
To maintain the quality of our coaching programme, interested participants are required to go through a selection process before they are selected into our National Youth Development Programme. This allows SingaporeBowling to ensure that participants of the right calibre are admitted to this programme and be groomed into future World Champions to represent Singapore in regional and international competitions.
Close to 150 selected participants will undergo the coaching programme.

COE Circuit & Results
Apart from the 36-week programme, there is a circuit organized at the various Centres of Excellence. This allows friendly competition among the bowlers from different centres.
For 2009, bowlers from level A and level AA/AAA competed over 3 legs and the top 24
(12 boys and 12 girls) qualified for the Masters. The format will be customized where appropriate to enhance the level of competitiveness for participants.
Apart from providing the opportunity for the bowlers to benchmark their skills among their peers, this COE Circuit also helps to familiarize participants with the competitive bowling format and to foster and maintain good fellowship and sportsmanship among participants.
